Documentaries The Groove Productions produces locally inspired films that celebrate unsung heroes, visionary artists, and important happenings.  Our projects are often born out of relationships and conversations with friends and neighbors,  sometimes out of serendipitous encounters. Each of our films tell unique stories that capture important moments in the life and history of Durham, the North Carolina piedmont and the wider world.

captures the genius of French photographer and installation artist Georges Rousse and follows the artist and two hundred volunteers during a month-long public art residency in Durham. The film reveals the complex process of creating Rousse's signature illusions of color and shape that ultimately become the stunning, large format photographs exhibited in galleries and museums around the world.
